Minerals 260 has moved to materially strengthen the balance sheet behind its Bullabulling Gold Project, announcing a $250 million institutional placement alongside a share purchase plan of up to $30 million.
The ASX-listed developer said on 16 September that the placement would issue approximately 284 million shares at $0.88 each. The financing is intended to accelerate work at Bullabulling, a large undeveloped gold project about 25 kilometres south-west of Coolgardie in Western Australia.
The raise is being completed in two tranches, with the second component subject to shareholder approval. Franco-Nevada is participating as a cornerstone investor for approximately $30 million, extending a relationship that has already provided substantial project funding.
Earlier this year, Franco-Nevada announced a financing package for Bullabulling comprising a royalty investment and equity funding. Combined with existing cash, the new placement and the proposed share purchase plan, Minerals 260 says its pro-forma funding position would be about $633 million.
The company is positioning that capital towards the next stage of project definition and development, with a pathway towards a final investment decision in 2027. The immediate work program includes studies, approvals, drilling and other activities required to convert the project from a large mineral inventory into a development-ready mining operation.
Bullabulling matters to the Western Australian project pipeline because of its scale and location. The project sits in an established Goldfields jurisdiction close to mining infrastructure and service capability, potentially creating a sizeable future package of opportunities across earthworks, processing infrastructure, power, water, accommodation, logistics and mining services.
Large equity raises also change the risk profile of development-stage projects. Rather than relying on a narrow sequence of future funding events, Minerals 260 now has greater capacity to advance technical work in parallel and preserve optionality around construction timing and financing structure.
The next tests will be less about access to capital and more about execution: resource conversion, project economics, permitting, engineering and the discipline with which the expanded balance sheet is deployed.
